‘Home Of Growing Champions’

Westville Swimming Club was founded in 1961 and is known around the country as a world-class swimming club with a year round swim program.

The club is ideally situated in the heart of Westville. Club training takes place at 2 facilities namely Westville Boys High School and the Westville Municipal Pool. We cater for swimmers from 6 years old to Master. Every member is part of the Westville Swimming Club family.

Renowned coach Doreen Hill headed the Club until 1987. Petro Nortje took the reigns over as the Head Coach in 1996. Many South African swimmers have been part of Westville Swimming Club’s list of achievers over the years such as Jean Nortje, Karen Fritsch, Beverley Rimmer, Susan Erasmus, Graham Hill, Rory Mapstone, Marcel Webber, Debbie Wade, Petro Nortje, Barend Nortje, Byron Doyle, Melanie Greyling and Sipho Mjoka to name a few.

When a swimmer becomes a member of Westville Swimming Club, we aim to teach the swimmer the values of sportsmanship, team spirit, work ethic and discipline. We promote the character traits of a well-rounded sportsman in and outside the pool.

WSC is committed to help you swim, enjoy your training, learn to train hard and to achieve your potential.

WSC participates in a wide range of events meaning that all children will get the opportunity to race for the club at some point whether as a competitive swimmer or as a social swimmer. There is no obligation on swimmers to compete.

We aim above all to keep our swimmers active and involved, train hard whilst improving your skills.

We make Champions inside and outside the pool !
